Mojo Monday 253: An Everyday Card Idea

What a fun sketch for today’s Mojo Monday card challenge! I pulled out my Birds of a Feather designer series paper, Pursuit of Happiness stamp set, and a few accessories to put together this card idea for you. Here are some pictures for you…

The ribbon is the 1/8″ taffeta in Marina Mist (119257), the button is tied on with Baker’s Twine in Early Espresso and Whisper White (123124), the button is from the Bright Designer Buttons collection (119747) and I used my Stampin’ Write markers in Night of Navy and Lucky Limeade to color the stamped image. This quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson is perfect for a summer day…or any day really.

Next Monday I will be launching my new blog and I am excited to introduce it to you soon!

Boo! Having Fun with Some Googly Ghouls!

Do you love Halloween? I do! I am excited to show you the new Googly Ghouls stamp set and the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit today. Both are available in the Holiday catalog that was released on August 1st. Take a peek and then I will tell you some more about these fun products…

I cannot wait to open the glassine bags, fill them with treats, tie on the tags, and give these away at Halloween!

With little ones at my house, I simply adore the Googly Ghouls stamp set. It screams Halloween and yet is playful and cute rather than being scary. The set is perfect on its own for making cards or tags. It is enhanced when you add some googly eyes (self-adhesive no less) and/or the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit.

With the kit, you receive 20 double-sided tags, 10 glassine bags, a pack of 50 googly eyes, and 10 pieces of Pumpkin Pie/Whisper White Baker’s Twine. Need more than 10 holders for treats? Several options are available in our full catalog — packs of 50 cellophane bags in various sizes, treat cups sold in sets of 12, and small Kraft gift boxes (4 per pack). So many choices!

If you decide to order both the stamp set and kit, be sure to order them together — you will save 15% by doing so! Remember that you can place your order 24/7 on my demonstrator website and that you can always reach me by email with your questions about stamping!

Enjoy these little ghouls and happy weekend!

Combining Stamping & Children’s Artwork

If you are a parent, you likely have a good bit of children’s artwork. We certainly do at our house. When opportunities arise I like to use the artwork for gift giving. Today is our sitter’s birthday. For the card from our daughters, I decided to combine a painting that my 3 year old did along with a little but of stamping and some ribbon. Here is the card:

The ribbon is 1/8″ taffeta in marina mist (119257) and I mounted my daughter’s artwork on some marina mist card stock (119682). The card base is whisper white card stock (100730) and my gumball green stampin’ write marker from the 2012-2014 in color collection (126856) was used to ink the stamp. The stamp is part of the Happy You set (122800 wood / 122802 clear) — this set is exclusively available when you shop online and are eligible for Stampin’ Rewards or when you host a live workshop.

Do you find ways to use your children’s artwork? I would love to hear about them!

PS: the remainder of my daughter’s painting is being saved for future cards or it may go on the front of a gift bag as it is perfectly sized for that purpose!

Wish Big: Peeking Through!

Over the years I have made a few umber of cards that incorporate a “peek through” design where there is a punch through the front of a card that exposes a stamped design on the inside of the card. Today I decided to make such a card for you. This card is about as easy as it gets when making such a card given that I have used some designer series paper to cover the main field of the card. I did elect to make the image “pop up” to the front card surface by using Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the image and it’s background circles to the inside of the card. Enjoy these photos and hope that they will inspire you!

I have incorporated the Floral District Designer Series Paper again today, along with the taffeta ribbon, and the sentiment comes from the Pennant Parade stamp set once again. As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I like to only feature current products when making projects for you and I will say that I have discovered that my ribbon stock is woefully low! This is ribbon is one of just two current ribbons in my stock. Clearly I need to expand my selection and am excited by the wide selection available …now just to choose between them!

Friday Fun: Bottle Tag

Since my last two posts have been very product oriented, I wanted to be sure to get you a fun and fresh project idea before the weekend. Have you ever given a bottled gift…fabulous lotion, gourmet cooking goods, something to drink? When most people give such gifts, a a bag is what is often used for holding the bottle. I want to show you a fun and easy idea…no bag required!

So easy to make and so many possibilities for how to decorate the tag. Stamping and paper crafting is truly for so much more than just cards and scrap booking!

Happy Friday!

As noted in the last photo, the sentiment comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set…24 sentiments in all! It is available both in wood mount and clear mount formats. The ink I used is my Raspberry Ripple Stampin’ Write Marker from the In Colors set (126856). All the card stock and paper is some that you saw earlier this week.
