Boo! Having Fun with Some Googly Ghouls!

Do you love Halloween? I do! I am excited to show you the new Googly Ghouls stamp set and the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit today. Both are available in the Holiday catalog that was released on August 1st. Take a peek and then I will tell you some more about these fun products…

I cannot wait to open the glassine bags, fill them with treats, tie on the tags, and give these away at Halloween!

With little ones at my house, I simply adore the Googly Ghouls stamp set. It screams Halloween and yet is playful and cute rather than being scary. The set is perfect on its own for making cards or tags. It is enhanced when you add some googly eyes (self-adhesive no less) and/or the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit.

With the kit, you receive 20 double-sided tags, 10 glassine bags, a pack of 50 googly eyes, and 10 pieces of Pumpkin Pie/Whisper White Baker’s Twine. Need more than 10 holders for treats? Several options are available in our full catalog — packs of 50 cellophane bags in various sizes, treat cups sold in sets of 12, and small Kraft gift boxes (4 per pack). So many choices!

If you decide to order both the stamp set and kit, be sure to order them together — you will save 15% by doing so! Remember that you can place your order 24/7 on my demonstrator website and that you can always reach me by email with your questions about stamping!

Enjoy these little ghouls and happy weekend!

Birds of a Feather Thank You Card Idea

In honor of the release of mds2 (that is short for My Digital Studio 2), I decided to digitally design my entry in the latest Pals Paper Arts color challenge. I love the colors that the Pals chose — summer starfruit, marina mist, and real red. What fabulous summer choices!

To create the card I used the My Digital Studio, a sheet of whisper white card stock (100730), my Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334), the Birds of a Feather Collection DVD (127216) which contains all the fun bird images you will see on the card as well as the printed Designer Series Paper on the front of the card and the sentiment on the inside. Oh, and of course my printer and paper trimmer!

Take a look at my finished card and a few detail photos that show the card in the process of being scored…

Do you love the fact that this is a tri-fold card? It is a fabulous alternative to the standard 4.25″ x5.5″ card. Each panel of the card measures 3.5″ x 5″ and in total it measures 5″ x 10.5…but really it is confession time…I goofed when cutting the card and accidentally trimmed it to be 10″ rather than 10.5. Of course all I need to do is re-print the card and cut to the proper dimensions and I can easily use this same card again and again.

If you’ve read my post from yesterday, you’ll know that there is currently a sale on professionally printed cards (and other digitally designed projects) during the month of August. So that I could get this card ready to show you I had to print it at home. Also, as a I mentioned at the beginning, this week is the release of mds2. You can try it out for free by visiting my demonstrator website — if you have yet to try out digital designing, consider giving it a try!

Thanks to the Pals Paper Arts team for inspiring me with this fun summer color combination!

Combining Stamping & Children’s Artwork

If you are a parent, you likely have a good bit of children’s artwork. We certainly do at our house. When opportunities arise I like to use the artwork for gift giving. Today is our sitter’s birthday. For the card from our daughters, I decided to combine a painting that my 3 year old did along with a little but of stamping and some ribbon. Here is the card:

The ribbon is 1/8″ taffeta in marina mist (119257) and I mounted my daughter’s artwork on some marina mist card stock (119682). The card base is whisper white card stock (100730) and my gumball green stampin’ write marker from the 2012-2014 in color collection (126856) was used to ink the stamp. The stamp is part of the Happy You set (122800 wood / 122802 clear) — this set is exclusively available when you shop online and are eligible for Stampin’ Rewards or when you host a live workshop.

Do you find ways to use your children’s artwork? I would love to hear about them!

PS: the remainder of my daughter’s painting is being saved for future cards or it may go on the front of a gift bag as it is perfectly sized for that purpose!

Making Dreams Come True, Digital Downloads, and more!

Today is Tuesday and that means that Stampin’ Up! Has just released some new digital downloads. In honor of this, I wanted to feature a project that I have made using My Digital Studio, the digital crafting software that Stampin’ Up! developed. In a few weeks I will be rolling out a new website and plans to grow my love of stamping into my career. I thought some framed inspiration in my office would be perfect as I make this transition. Take a peek…

So quick and easy to use My Digital Studio (or mds for short) to make projects! While this image was inserted as a single “stamp”, there is the ability to swap out colors, add a plain or printed background paper, or even to break apart the stamp. What do I mean by that? Let’s say you are making a wedding or anniversary card and you want to make a card with the name of the bride and groom…you could use the ampersand from this stamped image. Just imagine if you are the bride and are making little thank you notes to accompany your favors…so easy to take the ampersand and use it with some text in creating a beautiful note from you and your groom. The possibilities are endless!

Interested in replicating this project? The download I used for it is: Can’ts into Cans (item 130007) and is available for just $1.95. That is less than the price of buying a store bought card and you can use the image again and again and again!

Stampin’ Up! is releasing a new version of MDS studio later this year and when you purchase MDS now, you will be receive version 2 once it becomes available for FREE. Want to try before you buy? Click here for a free trial of the express version of MDS.

And, a reminder that today is the last day of the “reason to smile” promotion…Reason To Smile

If you have yet to try out digital crafting, do consider it!

All the best,

Mojo Monday 252: Cupcake Builder Birthday Card

The last Monday of the month is always fun with the Mojo Monday sketch challenge. This is the week each month that we are challenged to create either a round or square card (or both!)…always fun to make a different sized card than the usual 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ rectangular one.

Our ink cartridges have been refilled (not a drop of ink left was left in any of them) and I can show you both the sketch with my measurements and the card I created. Here you go…

Today I dared to be a little risky and pull out my Whisper White Craft ink…I say risky since I used it for the sentiment after adhering everything to the card. And a little risky also since the “happy birthday” greeting that I choose is so small (the set is called Teeny Tiny Wishes so no surprise that it is petite) rather than a large bold image which I often prefer when using my craft ink. Because craft ink is wetter than the classic ink, you do have to be careful and make sure it dries toughly before touch it so that you do not put a nice smudge on your creation.

This card could certainly be given to either a male or a female recipient…sometimes it seems a little harder to find masculine card samples. If you ask me, this one definitely works.

Ingredient list: card stock in lucky limeade (122926), island indigo (122923), night of navy (100867), old olive (100702), rich razzleberry (115316), naturals white (102316) and soft suede (115318); summer smooches designer series paper (125409); cupcake builder punch (121807), teeny tiny wishes stamp set (115370 wood / 127802 clear), and whisper white craft pad (101731).
