See you over at stampgoodness!

Big Day Monday!

On Monday, I’ll be launching my new blog. I’ve been busy working away on it and look forward to sharing it with you. As with any blog, it will be a work in progress, however, I have chosen Monday as the day for the big reveal!

What can you expect with the new blog?

  • A new name and whole new look
  • More project ideas, not only for cards but decorative items and 3-d projects as well
  • Sketch ideas – no challenges (at least not yet) but some sketches to inspire your card making
  • Details on special promotions that Stampin’ Up! is offering and the business opportunity that exists with Stampin’ Up!

Why the new blog? The Stamping ‘Roo has been a wonderful opportunity to learn about blogging and to share some of my projects with you…and now it is time for more! After many, many years of rubber stamping and paper crafting as a hobby, I’m making it a priority to carve out a business path. This new adventure will give me more freedom and flexibility, allow me to interact with others, and share one of my passions with you. I look forward to having you join me on the journey!

Monday is going to be a good day! See you then!                                                                                    ps: Yes, my signature is a reveal for part of the look and feel for my new blog! Can’t wait for you to see it!

Digital Downloads!

For a few years now, Stampin’ Up! has offered a software program called My Digital Studio. It is a fabulous option for people who are interested in digital scrapbooking, card making, and other paper crafts. I’ve only made a few products using MDS (that’s short for My Digital Studio of course) and the ones I have made, I love! You can print projects from the convenience of home or you can order them through a printing service right from your MDS program. You can learn all about MDS here.

Every Tuesday, Stampin’ Up! makes brand new content available.  I absolutely LOVE the new “Be Awesome Today Calendar Template” — the colors, the sayings — they are fabulous!  Take a peek…Be Awesome Today Easel Calendar Template -- Digital Download

You can bet I will be getting this and look forward to creating some perpetual calendars for family and friends!

Stampin’ Up! will be releasing MDS 2 later this year and the best thing is that if you purchase MDS now, you will be able to upgrade to MDS 2 for FREE upon its release. The new version will have many more features and I am excited to see all that it has to offer!

In Bloom and Bursting with Color

The flowers in our perennial beds are in bloom! We have quite a few flowers that bloom at this point in the season and I wanted to share some pictures with you.

In the event that you are not familiar with all of these flowers, from top to bottom they are:
Echinacea, bachelor button, bee balm, multi flower view including bee balm, echinacea, and daisies (2), and finally two variations of lillies.

Perhaps you will find some color inspiration in this stamp free posting!

Red, White, and Blue…a Pals Paper Arts Challenge!

The most recent Pals Paper Arts challenge is a color challenge that involves using Real Red, Whisper White, and Night of Navy. While I am not sure what specifically prompted their choice, there are so many occasions that can incorporate these color selections…Independence Day, the upcoming Olympic Games (LOVE the Olympics), and even the Queen’s Jubilee. And frankly this color combination is simply crisp and sharp. Take a look at what I have done with this:

Did you notice that I used the star stamp in the coordinating ink shades on both the Real Red and Night of Navy panels? The star is from the Every Little Bit set (120558 clear mount/ 117096 wood mount) and I have to say that if I were to be getting started and want to invest in one and only one set, this would likely be it. While the set does not include any sentiments, it has am image for just about every event you can imagine.

I am very impressed with the range of cards that others made for this challenge so if you did not come over from the Pals Paper Arts site, be sure to take a look.

Whatever occasion you chose to celebrate with red, white , and blue, enjoy!

PS: Did you happen to catch the Jubilee concert for Queen Elizabeth? When I selected the pinwheel stamp from the Happy You hostess set (122802 clear mount/ 122800 wood mount), I had the Fourth of July in mind. However, as soon as I finished assembling my card, I remembered Prince Charles asking the concert goers to give three cheers for the Queen and he three times said “hip hip” and the audience replied “hooray”…perhaps I should send this card “across the pond” with some jubilee greetings!
