Mojo Monday 247: sweet treats card

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week! While I made my Mojo Monday entry yesterday, I am just now getting it posted for you to see. This week is a fun square card and I have been an
E to use some of my InColors stampin write markers for coloring in the gum balls on my stamped image. Hmmm…gum ball green is one of this year’s in colors. While I did not intentionally choose to use it for this reason, a perfect choice! Here are some photos to inspire you!

A couple quick notes for you…
Did you notice that I showed essentially two finished card ideas? I originally was going to use just the midnight blue on the right side but I felt it needed a little something else so I added on the summer star fruit.
My covered edges are not perfect…notice the difference between the top and bottom corners…however, the true beauty of handmade is that everything need not be entirely precise to yield fabulous results.
To add some real dimension, I used stampin dimensionals for both layers of the circle…hopefully you can see that in the last photo.
Have a fabulous day!

A Mouthwatering Birthday Card

Summer is here and in my mind, watermelon definitely says summer! This card definitely says summer birthday. Here are a few pictures as I assembled the card and two possible final layouts…I went with the angled version.

If you wanted to go with a really basic card, you could use simply the printed background paper that I created using the watermelon image, card stock, and the birthday sentiment. On here I used tone on tone ink for the watermelon…and it almost looks like a wedge of lemon or lime.

Or you could easily dress this up with a bit of ribbon or some well placed brads. It is all a matter of your style, the time you have, and what supplies are readily at hand.

With a stamp set like Mouthwatering where the images are solid, my prefere is typically to use whisper white card stock since you get to most saturated ink effect. Also, because I used markers to apply the ink, I made sure to breathe onto the i age before stamping — this helps be sure the ink is moist.

Wishing you a glorious summer day!

supplies: mouthwatering stamp set (125677 clear/125675 wood), teeny tiny wishes stamp set (127802 clear/115370 wood), summer star fruit, primrose petals, and gum all green stampin’ write markers (126856), and card stock in summer star fruit (126839), primrose petals (126841), and whisper white (100730)

Wish Big: Peeking Through!

Over the years I have made a few umber of cards that incorporate a “peek through” design where there is a punch through the front of a card that exposes a stamped design on the inside of the card. Today I decided to make such a card for you. This card is about as easy as it gets when making such a card given that I have used some designer series paper to cover the main field of the card. I did elect to make the image “pop up” to the front card surface by using Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the image and it’s background circles to the inside of the card. Enjoy these photos and hope that they will inspire you!

I have incorporated the Floral District Designer Series Paper again today, along with the taffeta ribbon, and the sentiment comes from the Pennant Parade stamp set once again. As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I like to only feature current products when making projects for you and I will say that I have discovered that my ribbon stock is woefully low! This is ribbon is one of just two current ribbons in my stock. Clearly I need to expand my selection and am excited by the wide selection available …now just to choose between them!

Wish Big for Mojo Monday 246

Happy Mojo Monday! This week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge is just my style…very crisp and quick to make without a whole lot of embellishment. Of course you can add more embellishment beyond the suggested bow, but I have chosen to keep things nice and simple. Here are a few photos for inspiration.

These photos were taken at my crafting desk and I will say that I never realized just how yellow the light is…need to swap it out with a nice bright white fluorescent!

Ingredients: Pennant Parade stamp set (122742 clear mount), Floral District designer series paper (126919), 3/8″ taffeta ribbon in soft suede (122967), summer star fruit card stock (126839), crumb cake card stock (120953), circle punches — 3/4″ (119873) & 1″ (119868). I used my paper trimmer for the squares rather than a punch.

Friday Fun: Bottle Tag

Since my last two posts have been very product oriented, I wanted to be sure to get you a fun and fresh project idea before the weekend. Have you ever given a bottled gift…fabulous lotion, gourmet cooking goods, something to drink? When most people give such gifts, a a bag is what is often used for holding the bottle. I want to show you a fun and easy idea…no bag required!

So easy to make and so many possibilities for how to decorate the tag. Stamping and paper crafting is truly for so much more than just cards and scrap booking!

Happy Friday!

As noted in the last photo, the sentiment comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set…24 sentiments in all! It is available both in wood mount and clear mount formats. The ink I used is my Raspberry Ripple Stampin’ Write Marker from the In Colors set (126856). All the card stock and paper is some that you saw earlier this week.
